| RE: | State v. Eric Steiner guilty plea |
BOISE – Eric Steiner, 43, pleaded guilty Thursday to the murder of his wife.
Mr. Steiner was arrested on March 5, 2019 and charged with first-degree murder with an enhancement for using a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.
He pleaded guilty Thursday to first-degree murder. The enhancement charge was dismissed in the case.
Mr. Steiner’s sentencing is set for 10 a.m., June 26, 2020 before Ada County District Judge Samuel Hoagland.
At sentencing, the maximum penalty the court could impose is life imprisonment.
