01-28-16 State vs John C. Douglas – Conviction

John C. Douglas, 46, of Reading, Pennsylvania, was convicted of two counts of First Degree Murder for the deaths of Travonte Calloway and Eliot Bailey, and one count of Attempted First Degree Murder against Jeanette Juraska. n Ada County Jury deliberated four hours before returning unanimous verdicts this morning.

Anthony Jr. Robins Jr., 35, of Fremont, California, was convicted of hiring Douglas to commit the murders, buying the gun Douglas used and driving the getaway van. Robins was convicted of Aiding and Abetting two counts of First Degree Murder and Aiding and Abetting one count of Attempted First Degree Murder.

The jury heard evidence Robins ran a marijuana distribution business from California and organized the murders because he believed Calloway and Bailey had stolen 30 pounds of marijuana from him in October, 2013.

Judge Samuel F. Hoagland presided over the trial and ordered sentencing to occur on April 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Douglas and Robins are facing up to life in prison on each murder count.
