BOISE – Juan Santos-Quintero, 28, was convicted Tuesday of the first-degree murder of 26-year-old Junior Garcia.
Following the five-day trial, an Ada County jury found the defendant guilty of murdering the victim at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution in June 2023 by inflicting a severe beating. Mr. Garcia later died at a local hospital from his injuries sustained in the attack.
Mr. Santos-Quintero’s sentencing is set for October 7, 2024, before the Honorable Ada County District Judge Steven Hippler.
