RE: | State v. Lance Garver – Sentencing |
BOISE – On July 21, 52-year-old Lance Garver was sentenced for voluntary manslaughter and aggravated battery after an attack that led to one man’s death and left another man injured.
The Honorable Ada County District Judge Patrick Miller sentenced Mr. Garver to the prosecutor’s sentencing recommendation of 30 years in prison, with 20 years fixed before being eligible for parole.
In December 2020, Mr. Garver hospitalized two men. One victim, Cameron Bilbrey, was treated at the hospital and released, but the second victim, Steven Ochoa, ultimately died in January 2021 from his injuries sustained during the attack.
“These were senseless crimes, and I extend my thoughts to all those who were impacted,” said Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts. “Thank you to the Boise Police detectives for their hard work on this investigation.”
