RE: State v. Steven Justice Jr. Sentencing

BOISE – On Friday, a 39-year-old Boise man was sentenced to serve up to 40 years in prison for lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.

Steven Eugene Justice Jr. was arrested and indicted by a grand jury in July 2019 for felony lewd conduct with a minor, misdemeanor resisting and obstructing officers and a persistent violator enhancement. In January, a jury found him guilty of both charges and he pleaded guilty to the persistent violator enhancement.

Mr. Justice has at least two felony convictions out of California and was absconding parole when he was arrested in Boise. The Ada County Prosecutor’s Office asked at Friday’s sentencing to impose a life-sentence with 20 years fixed.

Ada County District Court Judge Jason D. Scott ordered Mr. Justice to serve a 40-year sentence with 12 years fixed before being eligible for parole.

“We appreciate the work the Ada County Sheriff’s Office did on this investigation, which helped my office ensure justice was served,” said Ada County Prosecutor Jan M. Bennetts.
