Title companies prorate trash service between seller and buyer as part of the closing process. Title will send a check for any balance owing on the account along with information verifying legal ownership for us to make necessary updates to the account. We try to streamline this process so you can focus on getting settled into your new home! By providing the below information you’re helping our staff to ensure we have everything correct on our end. If you choose to provide an email address, you’ll receive an electronic welcome email containing the account number, service day information, recycling guidance, payment options, balance info (if applicable), and other helpful information about your new services.

Tenants

A tenant cannot establish service at an address.
Please work with the legal owner of the property or the property management company to complete the required Owner Authorization for Mailing Address to Second Party Form mentioned below. Once this form is completed, there isn’t anything you need to do as a tenant. They provide us all the necessary contact information and we’ll send you a welcome packet of information about your new services.

Property Managers

A tenant cannot establish service at an address.
Residential billing is mailed to the legal property owner unless authorized in writing. To have bills mailed to a party other than the owner (such as tenant or property manager) complete, sign, and return the below form. This can only be completed by the legal owner or the designated property management company. If you’re a representative with a property management company signing the form on behalf of the owner, please remember to attach a copy of the first and signature page(s) of the management agreement authorizing you to make changes to the account. If a tenant or property management company fails to pay the bill, the owner is still held ultimately responsible for payment of the delinquent trash bill and any associated collection fees as it may be certified to the property tax roll as a first priority non-dischargeable property lien.
