Do you recognize this man? We want to ask him about string of home burglaries in South Ada County

Deputies are looking for a burglar who kicked in the front door of a south Ada County home on Dec. 18 – but didn’t realize the owner was home in the back room at the time.

The man chased the burglar out of his house before the burglar could take anything. We are working on identifying the burglar, who we have on tape from security footage at the home.

The man was not injured in the break-in. He later told investigators he was in the back of his house, located in the Ten Mile/Amity roads neighborhood, when he heard someone kick in his front door. That’s when he saw a man he did not know standing in the bedroom. The burglar then ran out of the house, jumped into a silver sedan parked in the driveway, and took off.

Our detectives would also like to talk to him about four similar break-ins in the Cole Road/Desert Avenue neighborhood the week before, on Dec. 7 and 8.

In one of those burglaries, someone kicked in the front door of a home on W. Sagebrush Way and stole money from inside the house.

In the other three burglaries, someone broke into sheds and outbuildings in the same neighborhood, stealing generators, tools, landscaping equipment, three rifles, and one shotgun.
