A 25-year-old Boise man accused of forcing himself on a 15-year-old girl Saturday night is charged with rape.
Deputies had been searching for Corey J. West all night before they found him walking near a family member’s house on Locust Grove Road near Kuna around 8 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies began their investigation around 11 p.m. Saturday after being called to investigate a report of a rape at a home in the 2300 block of South Locust Grove.
The girl told deputies she was in the bathroom in the house when West came inside and sexually assaulted her.
The girl called a friend right afterward to tell what happened and that person called deputies. West left the home before deputies arrived.
Deputies did several interviews with people who know West and spent hours searching before finding him near the home almost nine hours later. Deputies developed evidence West had been actively avoiding them throughout the night.
Detectives interviewed West, charged him with rape, and booked him into the Ada County Jail. West is also charged with a misdemeanor probation violation.
West is set to make his initial court appearance Monday afternoon.
The crime of rape is punishable by up to life in prison.
