18-year-old Meridian man charged with trafficking in cocaine and marijuana

Detectives arrested an 18-year-old Meridian man last week who used Snapchat to sell cocaine, marijuana and Xanax pills to his customers.

Steven A. Stoddard is charged with felony counts of trafficking in cocaine and marijuana — and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver — in connection with the case, which was done in concert with Meridian Police.

Detectives began their investigation in January after developing evidence Stoddard was dealing drugs over the popular social media picture-sharing site Snapchat, which has a direct message function.

Ada County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Stoddard Feb. 4 at his Meridian apartment, where they found over 250 grams of cocaine.

Meridian Police later seized over a pound of marijuana and multiple Xanax pills at Stoddard’s apartment in the Eagle/Ustick roads neighborhood.

Stoddard is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
