Motorcyclist badly hurt in crash on Ten Mile Road

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies are still investigating a traffic crash on Ten Mile Road Tuesday morning that resulted in severe injuries for a motorcyclist.

Paramedics transported the 41-year-old man to a local hospital for treatment of what could be life-threatening injuries.

The motorcyclist was going northbound on Ten Mile Road, between Lake Hazel and Amity roads, when he attempted to pass a car in front of him just before 7:30 a.m.

The motorcyclist pulled out into the path of a pickup truck, which was hauling a trailer, going southbound. The motorcyclist tried to go between the car and the truck and hit both before hitting the ground.

The driver of the truck sustained an injury to his arm. Paramedics treated him at the scene but someone else drove him to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the car was not injured.

It appears the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but it came off during the crash.

The portion of Ten Mile Road where the crash occurred was closed for more than an hour. Both lanes were reopened to traffic around 10 a.m.

The crash is still under investigation. No citations had been issued as of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
