I-84 traffic stop leads to meth trafficking charges for two Boise men

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies seized almost a pound of methamphetamine and over $12,000 in cash during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 Wednesday.

Joshua Allen Thomas, 38, and William Scott Demint, 43, are being held in the Ada County Jail on felony trafficking of methamphetamine charges.

A deputy pulled over Demint’s Ford F-150 on westbound I-84 just after 6 p.m. Wednesday for speeding. The truck was going as fast as 70 mph in a 55 mph construction zone.

It was during the speeding investigation that ACSO K-9 Nina detected the presence of drugs in the bed of the truck.

Deputies found 441 grams of meth, a digital scale, packaging materials, 12 grams of marijuana, and $12,794 inside a first aid kit. Deputies later found a 9mm handgun in the glove box of the truck.
