A 47-year-old Emmett motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon after he collided with a Sports Utility Vehicle on State Street near the Horseshoe Bend Road intersection.
The crash occurred just after 1:30 p.m.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office will publicly identify the man who died at a later time.
The motorcyclist was trying to turn eastbound on to State Street from Jennie Lane when he pulled out in front of an SUV that was headed westbound on State Street.
The force of the collision knocked over the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was declared dead a short time later. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Traffic on State Street was backed up for several hours Sunday as deputies investigated what happened. No charges or citations have been filed in connection with the crash.
