Adam L. Grossaint found that out Monday when he was charged with a misdemeanor OUI for driving personal watercraft on Lucky Peak while being under the influence of alcohol.
A breath tested revealed the 29-year-old Grossaint had a .220 BAC level, which is more that twice the legal limit of .08.
An Ada County Sheriff’s Office marine patrol deputy was doing a safety inspection of Grossaint’s personal watercraft Monday when he noticed Grossaint had glassy and red eyes, appeared lethargic, and smelled like alcohol.
Grossaint failed field sobriety tests before taking the breath test.
The deputy did the safety inspection shortly after 8 p.m. when Grossaint parked the PWC at the Barclay Bay boat ramp.
A court date on the OUI charges is set for Aug.18
