23-year-old Nampa man leads officers on vehicle chase before crashing truck and running away

A 23-year-old Nampa man who led ACSO deputies and Meridian Police on a vehicle chase before crashing his truck on Ustick Road early Wednesday morning is charged with a felony count of fleeing police.

Brady A. Hensley is also charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with the chase.

Officers also had to chase Hensley on foot for a short distance after he crashed the truck at the corner of Ustick and Curtis roads shortly after midnight Tuesday.

The incident began around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday when a Nampa Police officer following a truck that was speeding and swerving in-and-out of the driving lane on Amity Road asked for help.

As the truck entered Ada County, ACSO deputies and Meridian Police began following the truck. That ended when Hensley crashed his truck at the Curtis and Ustick intersection.

Deputies found several syringes and other items of drug paraphernalia in a backpack Hensley was wearing during the arrest.

They also found a handgun on the ground near where the crash occurred and are investigating if it is connected to the case.

Hensley’s truck was badly damaged in the crash.

Hensley, who is also charged with a felony parole violation, will make his initial court appearance Thursday afternoon.

Hensley was treated at a local hospital before he was booked into the jail late Wednesday morning.
