RE: State v. Britian Lee Barr

Britian Lee Barr, of Boise, Idaho was sentenced to seventy-five years in prison, after pleading guilty to five counts of sexual exploitation of a child, midway through trial yesterday. This is Barr’s second conviction for sexual exploitation, the first occurring in 2011. Barr was sentenced under Idaho’s enhanced penalties because he was a registered sex offender when he committed the new offenses.

In April 2017, Boise Police Detective Tim Brady was monitoring online networks used to distribute, share and download graphic photos and videos of child pornography. Through the investigation, he determined that Barr had downloaded hundreds of files of child exploitation while on sex offender probation. Detectives searched Barr’s cell phone and computers and located approximately ninety videos and just under five hundred images of children as young as two years old being sexually abused from all over the world.

Judge Samuel F. Hoagland presided over the trial and sentencing which occurred on May 15, 2018.
