Brandon Curtiss, 43, of Payette, Idaho, was arrested by the Idaho State Police today and charged with nineteen counts of Grand Theft. Curtiss is charged with collecting rent payments on behalf of property owners through his businesses Curtiss Property Management Company and Liberty Property Management Company and then refusing to release the rent money back to the property owners.
The complaint alleges that between 2013 and 2016, Curtiss wrongfully withheld approximately $87,000 dollars of rent payments he collected from nineteen (19) property owners who were his clients.
Curtiss was booked into the Ada County jail today and is being held on $150,000 bond pending his arraignment. The maximum sentence on each count of grand theft is 14 years in prison.
Curtiss is presumed innocent on each of the charges until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
