County Treasures

Since 2003 the Council has selected properties throughout the County to be honored as County Treasures. These are sites or structures that add to Ada County’s Heritage that are maintained through the dedication of caring individuals, groups and businesses. The Council recognizes these folks for their efforts at Preserving Ada County’s Heritage.

We are now accepting and seeking nominations for the 2020 County Treasures Award.

The Council would appreciate nominations from the public of structures or sites that you think are worthy of being recognized as a County Treasure.

Nomination Criteria:

  • Structure(s) must be at least 50 years old.
  • Must be located in Ada County, with a preference in unincorporated Ada County, or must be related to the County’s rural history, government history or early infrastructure.
  • Must have historic significance (properties which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places or a city/Ada County historic resource inventories will also qualify).
  • The property/structure should exhibit uniqueness, and must still be serviceable or in reasonably well preserved condition.

Please send your nominations to Brent Danielson at [email protected].
