Coroner Owens identified 65 year-old Lawrence Lee Morton Jr as the victim of a vehicle accident near the intersection of E. Ustick Road and N. Veraldo Avenue on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Mr. Morton Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. He died of blunt force trauma injuries sustained in the motor vehicle accident.
Toxicology results are pending and may take several weeks to return.
The case is under investigation by the Meridian Police Department.
