Foothills Shooter Identified – UPDATE

42 year-old Benjamin C. Barnes of Boise died of a gunshot wound of the chest. There were a total of two gunshot wounds, one fatal one non-fatal. Mr. Barnes was repeatedly threatening Hulls Gulch hikers and shot and killed one dog before being confronted by the Boise City Police. The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force is investigating the shooting.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office continues to follow up but as of the time of this release have exhausted leads to locate family. If you have any information on family of Mr. Barnes, please contact the Coroner’s Office at 208-287- 5556.
UPDATE: March 21, 2017 FAMILY OF MR. BENJAMIN C. BARNES LOCATED AND NOTIFIED (OUT OF STATE)
