| As a fellow public servant, I find the recent actions taken against public servants and elected officials in our community appalling and extremely disheartening. While I support the right of every American to represent their beliefs in a peaceable manner, I adamantly oppose the actions of these citizens who are choosing to aggressively protest outside of the private residences of public servants.
Every Idahoan deserves to feel safe and secure in their own home, as do their children and other loved ones who reside there as well. As a native of our great state, I have full confidence that these protestors represent a minority of our citizens, and the majority of Idahoans would not condone these inappropriate tactics of harassment and intimidation. This blatant disregard for the physical and emotional well-being of others stands starkly against the quintessential values of the great citizens of Idaho who strongly value respect, privacy and empathy. It is my greatest hope that our community can rally together, support each other and embrace these values that make our state such a wonderful place to live. |
