Coroner Owens has identified the remains as those of 34 year-old Andrew Joseph Lee Gatten, of Meridian.
Mr. Gatten’s body was recovered July 11, 2017 from a small island/sand bar on the Boise River west of Willow Lane. He was in advance decomposition stage. Positive identification was made by the Ada County Coroner’s Office Forensic Team. Our office is currently completing a full investigation to determine how long the decedent was missing.
The cause and manner of death are pending further test results which can take several weeks to return.
