Property Tax Relief Deadline Extension

Tax Filing Extension Also Applies to Property Tax Relief Programs
Individuals now have until May 17, 2021 to apply for property tax relief

BOISE – The Idaho and Federal income tax filing deadline extension that gives you an extra month to file your taxes also means you have an extra month to apply for property tax relief. These property tax relief programs for eligible applicants include Circuit Breaker, Property Tax Deferral and 100% Service-Connected Disabled Veterans Benefits.

“We are so pleased this deadline extension will give individuals additional time to apply for the various property tax relief programs available to them,” said Ada County Assessor Robert McQuade. “Each year we work hard to spread the word about the various property tax relief programs available to seniors, disabled individuals, veterans, and widows and widowers. If you believe you qualify, we encourage you to apply.”

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced last Wednesday that it was delaying the traditional tax filing deadline of April 15th to May 17th this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
