Ada County Opioid Crisis Series 1

(Boise, ID) – Ada County’s Problem Solving Courts are taking on the opioid crisis with full force!

On Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Ten Mile Christian Church, Ada County Problem Solving Courts along with their partners; Veterans Administration, Ada County Paramedics, Ten Mile Christian Church and the Idaho Department of Correction are hosting the first series of an educational awareness campaign to address the opioid crisis in Ada County.

This goal of these series is to end the stigma about addiction; educate the community on how susceptible we all are; and empower people to help others and/or get the help they so desperately need.

Ada County Coroner, Dotti Owens, is the keynote speaker for this first series. Other speakers include Judge Lynn Norton with Ada County Problem Solving Courts, Ada County Commissioner Jim Tibbs, treatment services counselors and an overdose survivor story.  There will also be community support exhibit booths sharing information and available resources.

The public is not only invited but encouraged to attend. There is no age limit for attendees. The opioid epidemic is like a virus, it can easily seep into anyone’s life.
