New Color-Coded COVID-19 Tracking

As area school districts begin their 2020-2021 academic year, Central District Health (CDH) has established recommendations for schools using a three-category, color-coded system for operations in Ada, Boise, Elmore, and Valley counties. Learn more about the CDH recommendations.

Color-Coded Recommendations

Among the recommendations for schools are Green (#1), Yellow (#2), and Red (#3) categories. CDH will use a two-week average daily COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 population to make category recommendations. This calculation per 100,000 population is a standardization tool to make equivalent comparisons across the four-county region. CDH issues these weekly recommendations each Monday; final decisions on how schools will operate are made by local school boards. School category information can be found on CDH’s COVID-19 & Schools web page.
