Ada County Historic Preservation Council Presents Making History Award
This Year’s Recipient, Frank Eld, to Receive Award at August 8th Meeting

 

(Boise, ID) – The Ada County Historic Preservation Council is honoring Frank Eld by presenting him with a Making History Award at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in the Commissioners’ Public Hearing Room on the first floor of the Ada County Courthouse. 

The Ada County Making History Award honors people, groups or businesses whose activities today are creating our future history. The award recognizes the award recipient’s long term commitment to our communities and the lasting legacy that has been created for current and future generations in Ada County. Previous Making History Award recipients include J.R. Simplot, Charles Hummel, Idaho Children’s Home, Arthur Hart, David Leroy, and Lila Hill.

This year’s Making History Award is being presented to Frank Eld for his recent restoration of the 1893 Jones House.  In addition, he has restored the original Roseberry General Store in Valley County along with 25 other buildings, including 8 Finnish built log ones. Frank is also the author of Finnish Log Construction-The Art and he is currently working on a second book.

The Ada County Commissioners and the Historic Preservation Council will present the 2018 Making History Award at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, in the Commissioners’ Public Hearing Room of the Ada County Courthouse. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
