Fishin’ with the Commission

Saturday, May 4 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park
1900 N Records Ave, Meridian

Meridian’s “Unplug & Be Outside” also Kicks-Off May 4 at Kleiner Park!

(Boise, ID) – Ada County Commissioners invite the community to join them for Fishin’ with the Commission on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 10am – 2pm, at Kleiner Park in Meridian.

Ada County, the City of Meridian, and Idaho Fish and Game are teaming up to provide this fun and educational activity for the whole family.  This is a great way to introduce the kids to one of Idaho’s most popular hobbies for free!  Idaho Fish & Game will be providing fishing gear, bait, and assistance. No fishing license is required, participants just need to stop by the Idaho Fish & Game “Take Me Fishing” trailer the day of the event, and sign up to fish for free with the Ada County Commissioners from 10am-2pm.

The “Take Me Fishing” program aims to get kids and families excited about fishing, encourage a healthy outdoor lifestyle, and build a new generation of anglers in Idaho.

The Ada County Commissioners want to make sure you go home with your catch of the day so they’re having the pond stocked with trout before the event!  Ada County will be providing water, cookies and ice cream, compliments of the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and Republic Services.

The Ada County Weed, Pest and Mosquito Abatement education trailer will be on site as well!
